Winter on Pezinská Baba
Pezinská baba - the ski resort is especially popular with the residents of the neighboring villages and towns. Only 35 kilometers from Bratislava, you feel like you are in another world. It is located on the ridge of the Little Carpathians at an altitude of 527 m above sea level and offers 5 lifts and 3 downhill tracks. Ski day and night
The slopes offer different levels of difficulty. There are two 500-meter lifts and one 300-meter lift, which is intended especially for beginner skiers. Snow is alternatively provided by technical snowmaking, if the temperature allows it. Do you like skiing in the evening light? You can enjoy night skiing on the VL 500 track in Pezinská Baba every day of the week.
You can ski to your heart's content on the VL 1000 slope
The ski resort Pezinská baba also offers skiers a slope of 1,000 VL with a length of 1 kilometer. The upper part suits undemanding skiers. The middle part will test you a bit, and if you dare, it is a good preparation for the most demanding lower section. However, less experienced skiers can bypass it by turning through the forest.
In addition to skiing, you can go cross-country skiing
The cross-country tracks on Pezinská Baba are arranged as circuits for classic or free style. The easy 2 km circuit is suitable for beginners or family cross-country skiing in less demanding terrain. The total elevation of the circuit is 48 m. The most used is the 3 km circuit with an elevation gain of 80 m.
Still not enough? So try a modified circuit for classic, but also free style with a length of 5 km, a width of 4 m and a total elevation of 144 m. Public cross-country or orienteering competitions are also organized here.
Everyone can ski at Zoch's cottage
A ski resort that bears the same name as a few meters away popular hotel, is located about 15 km from Modra, at an altitude of 425 m above sea level. It has 4 moderate slopes and is equipped with lifts for beginners and families with small children. The center offers technical snowmaking, artificial lighting and is focused on teaching skiing with daily operation. Can't ski?
If you don't know how to ski, but you want to learn, the resorts offer ski and snowboard schools. In both ski resorts, you can also rent equipment if you don't have your own. And finally, you can also have fun in local buffets or on the toboggan run, which is also part of the area.
Winter hiking in the Little Carpathians
The surroundings of Zochova Chata and Pezinská Baba are also attractive for winter tourism. It offers many ascents to the mountains of the Little Carpathians with beautiful views. You can visit the well-known lookout tower on top of Veľká Homoľa (709 m above sea level). Although it is a bit steep, it is all the more beautiful ascent, from which there is a very nice view. Captivating views are also offered by Skalnatá (704 m above sea level), Čertov kopec (752 m above sea level) or Vysoká (754 m above sea level), which we have already written about in our previous blogs. In the northern part of the Malé Karpaty mountain range, the peak of Vápenna – Roštún (752 m above sea level) is dominant.
