Carnival in Modra and the cabbage soup cooking competition are among the most popular events in the city. This year, the cabbage soup will be fragrant on Saturday, February 14th, in the area in front of the Ľ. Štúra Cultural House, Sokolská 8.
The program:
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Cooking cabbage soup
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.: Vincúr association wine tasting
10.30 am: carnival parade of masquerades, if you have your own mask, join us
12.00 – 13.00 h: Tasting of competition cabbage rolls
1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.: Folk music by the Singers
2:30 p.m.: Evaluation of the Modranská kapustnica 2026 competition
Event visitors
The condition for entry to the event and tasting of cabbage soup is the purchase of a ticket on the day of the event. Ticket sales will start at 11:00 a.m., ticket price: €7.00. The visitor will receive one bowl and spoon with the purchased ticket. The ticket will be used to rate the best cabbage soup. The purchased ticket cannot be returned.
Visitors' rating of the cabbage patch
After tasting the cabbage soup, the visitor drops a ticket into the container of the team with the cabbage soup they consider the best. The team that collects the most evaluation tickets wins. The visitors determine only one - the absolute winner.
Evaluation by an expert jury
An expert jury will taste the cabbage soups of all teams. The taste, ingredients used, preparation and overall impression will be evaluated. The jury members will award the first three places to the competitors - jury prizes.
