The 30th anniversary of the Salon of Artists will bring a selection of contemporary art from the Bratislava region to the Zoya Museum – ELESKO Wine Park in Modra. From June 19 to September 13, 2026, it will present 101 authors and 186 works. In terms of the number of exhibitors and presented works, it is one of the most extensive years in the history of the event. The theme of the 30th year of the exhibition project is a trace, which symbolically connects the traces of individual authors with the thirty-year history of the Salon of Artists.
The Artists' Salon has been one of the unique exhibition formats in Slovakia for three decades. It connects professional and non-professional artists and its characteristic feature is openness, generational diversity and diversity of artistic approaches, techniques and themes.
Its history began in 1995 with the zero year in Pezinok, where 12 authors exhibited. What was originally a small exhibition gradually became a significant regional event, which today represents more than a hundred exhibitors. For the last thirteen years, it has been held in the premises of the Zoya Museum – ELESKO Wine Park in Modra. The anniversary year also develops the new visual identity of the Salon, which was introduced in 2024.
The theme of the anniversary year is FOOTPRINT. Since 2019, the Salon has also included a collective work reflecting the common theme of the exhibition. A footprint can be a record of movement, memory, experience or creative gesture. In the context of the anniversary, it commemorates the footprints left by authors, organizers, partners and visitors over thirty years and which together created the story of the Salon of Artists. The theme FOOTPRINT thus speaks not only about the individual, but also about the common footprint that the community around this event has created over three decades. In the exhibition, visitors will also find selected statements by exhibiting authors who have reflected on what the Salon of Artists means to them and what footprint it has left in their work. The curator of the exhibition is acad. painter Milan Rašla, the architect of the exhibition is Jakub Tóth.
