About Movies on Paffk
We screen a selection of not only domestic Pezinok productions, but also independent films from the wider area and abroad. Over the two days, we alternate different genres, so you will see feature and animated films, comedies and action, dramas and experimental films. The films are divided into several sections and their format can be short or even a few seconds long.
History of Paffk
The name PAFF festival originated as an abbreviation for the Pezinok Amateur Film Festival. “Paffko” was originally born in 2003 in the hands of enthusiasts from the Pezinok film group 'Tichý dom'. After a short break when the festival was not held, we, the people from the civic association OZ KINEČKO and OZ PDF (Friends of Theatre and Film), took over the organizational and baton from them. Our “ozetká” were originally involved in the creation of various local events but also amateur, that is, independent and low-budget filmmaking, with the aim of bringing it closer to the general public, so it went smoothly for us. So well, in fact, that we were forced to rename the PAFF festival to PAFF, as the festival and its films evolved from originally A-amateur production to A-alternative production. PAFF wouldn't be possible without you, the contributing creative filmmakers, volunteers, and visitors. Thank you!
