A comedy by one of the most successful Scandinavian playwrights, Bengt Ahlfors. Božidara Turzonová excels in the lead role in this rather dark comedy about marriage, the relationship between parents and adult children, an urn with ashes, homemade brandy and carefully concealed plans that eventually come to light anyway. The play, written by a contemporary Finnish author, takes place in a slightly deranged family. The quirky Mrs. Colonel decides to take her recently deceased husband's urn home from the cemetery, which gives her descendants the idea of how to seize their father's inheritance. Because they lack the intelligence to secretly implement the plan, everything ends in failure and the whole game has an unexpected happy ending.
Producers from the LECA production agency, Andrej Antonio Leca and Roberto Leca, are convinced that in today's difficult times, the audience needs high-quality theatrical comedy. They reached for a darkly humorous title from Ahlfors, one of the most successful Scandinavian playwrights. In the crazy comedy, which has been translated into many languages and performed in dozens of countries around the world, there is no lack of life optimism and love that blooms at any age.
"It is an excellent comedy, of which there are very few nowadays, that in itself was the reason that I staged it very gladly and with gusto. I emphasized the grotesque and the text. It is so rich in itself, so theatrical that it is a joy to make. It has extraordinary transformations, extraordinary images," director Vladimír Strnisko said after the premiere.
In addition to the acting legend Božidare Turzonová, the audience will certainly be delighted by other actors such as Zuzana Kocúriková in an alternation with Katarína Mrázová in the role of a naive domestic helper who, however, knows much more than you would ever expect, Karol Čálik in the role of "the gentleman from the past", Zuzana Frenglová in alternation with Oľga Belešová as the colonel's daughter, a religious bigot and yet divorced several times with many children, Peter Trník and Tomáš Vravník as the colonel's son, Lucia Vráblicová in alternation with Judita Hansman as the many times divorced "lady" and Michal Jánoš in alternation with Přemek Boublík in the role of a psychiatrist.
