Winery Museum

Pezinok

There is a museum of viticulture and winemaking in the underground of Pezin Castle. In the Apostolic cellars, each barrel has its own story that reflects the time in which it was made. The oldest preserved is from 1807, where St. Leopold is depicted. Other barrels show the coats of arms of the owners and portraits of the holy apostles, as they were depicted by the carver of the Slovak Vinohradnícke družstva in the first half of the last century. In the cellars you will find items and tools that our ancestors used to work in the vineyard. In an engaging way, you can view the entire vineyard year, where you will find out what things were used to work the vineyards, to harvest and process the grapes. You will definitely be attracted by the cooper's workshop with an incredible number of tools for making and repairing barrels. Here you will find large and small old presses for the primary processing of grapes, ingenious filters for cleaning ciders, or ancient wine fillers.
