Harvest festivals are not just a celebration of the end of the harvest.\u00a0<\/strong>They are a reminder of a time when the entire year in the village revolved around what grew in the fields, orchards, and vineyards.\u00a0When the grain was finally under the roof, it was time to give thanks for the harvest, meet with neighbors, and celebrate that the hardest work was behind us.<\/strong> We invite you to various corners of the Bratislava region, where the tradition of celebrating the harvest remains alive. They are waiting for you\u00a0harvest festival, feast, folklore, the smell of cabbage, apples, mulled wine, local products, old customs<\/strong> and new ways to remember what the country gives us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For centuries, this period has been associated with songs, celebrations, feasting, and merriment.<\/strong>, while local customs were not the same everywhere. This year's dry and hot summer reminded us why and for what people once thanked God - that despite great efforts, it was ultimately nature that decided the outcome of the year-long effort. Even in today's modern times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did you know that\u00a0harvest wreath<\/strong>\u00a0Wasn't it once just an ornament? Was it woven from the most beautiful ears of corn on the last or penultimate day of the harvest and\u00a0symbolized the harvest and hope for its further reproduction<\/strong>. The reapers brought it in a ceremonial procession to the farmer, who entertained them after the harvest. The wreath then remained in the house until the next harvest, and the grain from it could be mixed into the seed in the spring.<\/p>\n\n\n
