Slovak folk majolica Blue
In Slovak folk majolica, masters of the craft have been developing inherited traditions for 138 years, creating the ceramic soul of the region with their hands and hearts. All products are handmade and painted. Each piece is a unique work. Modran majolica and majolica ornamentation are registered in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Slovakia. In Modra, majolica with traditional ornamentation is created, but in 2019 new, useful and design patterns were also added. A blue feather, a purple cob and a burgundy ticket are the first designs from the collection inspired by Heřman Landsfeld, the master of Modran majolica, and his samplers from the beginning of the last century. Agáta Petrakovičová Šikulová, curator of SNM - Museum of Slovak Ceramic Sculpture, collaborated on the collection. The Skratky design collection was created in cooperation with the Modran creative studio Design friendly - it moves the Modran majolica ornamentation into the 21st century and in short brings traditional Slovak beauty to modern users.

Tour of the production and painting of ceramics of your choice
(length 90 minutes, price 20 €)
The educational tour starts every hour from 10:00 to 16:00 (last excursion). It includes: an introduction at the foundation stone from 1973, a visit to the workshops with an expert explanation of pottery production and traditional ornaments with a demonstration of the work of master ceramists, a short documentary film, an exhibition of majolica and rare sample books. After the tour, you can paint a small piece of pottery of your choice directly in the pottery workshop. After firing, it will be delivered to you.
Ceramic Painting – Vase and Cup
(length 90 minutes, price 30 €)
Decorate a glazed vase and a glass with a painting. Your own original ceramics will then be fired in the workshop and delivered to you upon agreement.
Ceramic Painting – Mug and Bowl
(length 90 minutes, price 35 €)
Paint your own mug and bowl, which you can use after firing. Majolica is dishwasher and microwave safe. You paint the finished products, they are then fired in the ceramic workshop and delivered as agreed.
