One of the ceramic workshops in this region is the workshop of Renáta Hermys, located in Grinave. Renáta Hermys is self taught. She started work at the Modra Majolika workshops, but soon opened her own workshop in a small 50-square-meter house. Today, her workshop has grown to 350 square meters. It produces about two hundred products, from small magnets to souvenirs to traditional Modra majolica, as well as artworks with a more modern design. It employs 10 workers from the Small Carpathian region - all of them have graduated from art school and have at least 15 years of experience in the industry, which guarantees the quality and high aesthetic level of the work. Production is mainly focused on traditional decors and shapes - colourful blue, green and haban majolica, thus preserving the cultural heritage of this region.
With her Majolika Renáta Hermysová has travelled the world, where she represented Slovak arts and crafts. She has also won several awards - including the Entrepreneur of the Year 2015.
We invite you to visit this workshop, where you will experience the atmosphere of traditional ceramic production. Here you can make your own original product on the potter's wheel and buy a variety of ceramics and souvenirs.
